Arriving in Hull for the first time, a pop up table tennis facility including three full-size playing tables, 20 bats and 72 ping pong balls, courtesy of Table Tennis England is the latest unit to be occupied on Outlet Level 3.

Opening this Saturday 28th July, the shopping centre will open a Ping Pong Parlour as part of a nationwide scheme initiated by Table Tennis England with an aim to develop participation growth within the game.

Situated on Level 3 of the centre, next to Beauty Outlet, the Ping Pong Parlour will be open for everyone to enjoy free of charge in a relaxed and safe environment, Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm and 11am-4pm on weekends.

A Table Tennis England spokesperson said: “We’re really excited to be opening a Ping Pong Parlour with Princes Quay in Hull. We hope that the Parlour will inspire local people to pick up a bat and have a go at table tennis, and that it will help them to lead a more active lifestyle.

“Table tennis is such a great sport that can be played by everyone, and we hope that visitors to the Parlour will love the sport as much as we do!”

The Ping Pong Parlour have already opened in several other shopping centres nationwide, forming part of Table Tennis England’s vision to inspire people to get active and lead happier, healthier lifestyles by introducing table tennis into the places they already spend time in their everyday lives.

Princes Quay Centre Manager John Magee said: ““It’s great to welcome The Ping Pong Parlour to both the Centre and the City! It adds a fun activity for all the family to enjoy on our Outlet Level. We are excited about this new addition and hope that everyone will respectfully take advantage of the free activity. We want to hear all about your experiences and we encourage everyone to make sure they post on social media with their best moves and greatest scores”
