Hull’s worst dressed man claims his makeover prize!

Our Modernise Your Man competition gave dowdy dads and unkempt uncles the chance to win a full makeover, thanks to retailers in the shopping centre. But who was the final badly dressed bloke?

Martin Sheilds, the 28 year old self-confessed nerd from Longhill, was entered by his partner Rebecca who expressed her embarrassment in a Tweet to the shopping centre.

Martin, who was in shock at the news said:

“When I got the phone call I didn’t even know I’d been entered so it was a bit of a shock. After a stressful year though, it comes as a welcomed surprise and it will be nice to feel like a princess for a couple of hours. At first I was cursing Rebecca, but I guess it’s her way of showing her appreciation for all I do for the family and I’m really looking forward to getting a new suit.”

Martin, who used to work in a suit-shop, has fallen off the style wagon and has started to favour comfort over fashion, but thanks to the generous retailers of Princes Quay Martin is due to get a much-needed style shake-up.

First stop Martin headed to Supercuts where manager Becky spruced up his barnet and made sure he looked sharp for his afternoon of shopping.

Mark at Skopes then took the reigns, offering up some stylish top tips and options from suits to casual wear, Martin was certainyl well-looked after.

Lastly, Lee from Suit Direct gave Martin the full VIP treatment, measuring, fitting and styling to make sure he walked away a changed man.
