SANTA’S ARRIVAL PARADE

Santa will make his way through the city centre and officially open his grotto and switch on our Christmas lights!

Hull’s annual city centre Christmas Parade, organised by Princes Quay, is back for 2018, and we expect it to be bigger and better than ever. With a little help from his hard-working elves, Santa has pulled out all the stops for a fabulous parade which will take place this Sunday.
Join Santa as he leads the way through the city centre streets; with masses of festive fun to be had, this one’s an essential for the Christmas calendar. The city will be lined with specially decorated vehicles and floats from a variety of local organisations.
Princes Quay Centre Manager, John Magee, said: “We’re incredibly excited for the festive season to officially begin. After weeks of preparation, we’ve ensured that this year’s Christmas period is going to be extra special. With Santa leading the parade, it will be great to see Hull’s streets lined with eager onlookers before he heads into the centre to officially open the grotto.
“People can buy tickets online in advance for the first time this year, and sales are already proving popular, so I’d urge people to book their tickets now and avoid the queues.”
This year marks the 8th year of the hugely successful parade, which attracted over 22,000 people in 2017.
The 1.5-mile route for this year’s parade starts at Hull New Theatre at 11am on Sunday 18 November and makes its way through the city before arriving at Queen Victoria Square.
The parade will include participation from the talented State of the Art organisation in conjunction with Back to Ours organisation, Viking FM, KCFM, Great Yorkshire Radio, Village Hotel, All for One Choir and Acre Heads Primary School along with a variety of other local organisations.
At the end of the parade, Santa will make his way into Princes Quay to officially turn the shopping centre’s Christmas lights on and open his very own magical Grotto on Level 2.
With something for everyone, both adults and children will be able to enjoy Santa’s Stable this festive season. Father Christmas will be working double shifts to ensure he meets all children, and his Elves will be super busy making special Christmas gifts for each child that visits.
After rumours of a talking Reindeer have emerged, we’re sure that families visiting Princes Quay will be provided with plenty of fun and laughter throughout the merry month.
Tickets can be purchased via Princes Quay’s website and are priced at £6 for each child, including two adults. Additional adults will be charged £1 each (with a minimum of one adult and a maximum of 4 children’s tickets per booking).
