PUPIL’S ART PROJECT POP-UP

Year 6 students will display their work in a week-long exhibition

As part of the Humber Education Trust, Year 6 students from across the city have the chance to exhibit their work in Princes Quay’s pop-up gallery.

Since autumn, year 6 pupils from 12 participating schools have been working very hard on their projects with each school choosing their own theme. From Planet Earth to Picasso, there’s plenty of interesting artwork from all schools involved.

Claire Donnelly, the Assistant Headteacher at Maybury Primary School said:

“We’re really excited for our first major project as a trust, our students have been working extremely hard to make sure all their pieces are finished and ready to exhibit. Our Year 6 teachers are really looking forward to seeing the gallery come together and showcasing all their student’s hard work.”

The Humber Education Trust is a multi-academy organisation consisting of 12 schools in the Yorkshire and Humber area. They aim to deliver the best possible educational experience with a focus on raising standards, encouraging innovation and strengthening the ethos of the Trust. The exhibition will be cross-circular and will include a variety of themes for everybody to enjoy.

As advocates of the arts, Princes Quay is no stranger to exhibitions with previous displays proving incredibly successful. Centre manager John Magee said:

“We love engaging with the local community, and we’re looking forward to see what the students have come up with. It will be a great addition to the centre during the run-up to Christmas and we are sure they will get lots of exposure with the expected rise in footfall.”

The pop-up will take place from 3 Dec to 9 Dec and will be located on Outlet Level 3 in between Ben Sherman and Next.
