CONSCIOUS QUAY PICKS #PQONPOINT

CONSCIOUS QUAY PICKS #PQONPOINT

We’re stepping into June in sustainable style! We’re celebrating fashion throughout the month, starting with a focus on all things eco-friendly and how even the smallest of conscious changes, to our day-to-day and lifestyle, can all contribute to and help the environment.

We’ve Quay Picked a selection of products that we think should be on your radar – and they’re all available from PQ! From cruelty-free beauty products and fairtrade decor made in Bali to recycled clothing and sauces helping to fight Malaria.

Discover more info below
  1. Did you know that Samsara is the only fairtrade store Hull? We’re so pleased that they’re part of the PQ family. It was hard for us to choose just one item from the shop as they have sooooo many lovely products, handcrafted in Bali. How cute are these water hyacinth leaves rope animals? Even better they’re 100% sustainable.
  2. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. We’re lucky to have an Andy’s store at PQ. As well as supporting a great cause and picking up a cheap vintage gem of an outfit, did you know that there are a ton of environmental benefits from bagging a charity shop bargain? By boosting and encouraging re-use and recycling items, second-hand charity shops help to reduce the overall amount of waste that ends up in landfill. Instead of chucking your unwanted clothes away, donate them to your local charity shop today! One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure after all…
  3. Yaaas Vegan Queen. We love these candles from Damaged Society. Hand-poured in the UK using natural soy wax and scented with Gin & Tonic (always a winner!) This zesty, lemon and juniper scent has hints of coriander and lime to make a punchy gin aroma.
  4. Superdrug’s vegan shampoo and conditioner range ‘Extracts’ are available in a variety of dreamy scents: Raspberry and Macadamia Nut, Aloe Vera and Mango, Grapefruit and Papaya and our personal fave, Coconut and Almond. The look and feel is far more luxurious that you’d expect for just £1.99 – £2.29 a bottle! Keep your eyes peeled for their regular buy one get one free deal too!
  5. Tastes good, does good! All profits from purchases of limited edition sauce packs go towards Nando’s Fighting Malaria, which funds spraying projects across Mozambique – each sauce pack purchase is the equivalent of protecting an entire family in Mozambique for a year!
  6. Make date night a great night with Pizza Express’ delicious Vegan options. Not only will you be contributing to curbing animal cruelty, but plant-based diets also improve our health and protect the environment. We can confirm the Vegan Mezze pizza tastes as delicious as it sounds – Smoked chilli chargrilled aubergine, tomato, sundried tomato harissa, garlic oil, spicy jalapeño and Roquito peppers finished with rocket and creamy houmous on a Romana base. Mmmmm.
  7. Our Beauty Outlet on Level 3 is proud to stock the W7 Very Vegan range for those who follow a plant-based cruelty-free lifestyle. The cosmetics range is certified by The Vegan Society. If you’re looking for an Urban Decay beauty dupe on a budget, their eyeshadow palettes are amazing!
